The term "huge loss" aptly describes what happens when they realize that the new supply does not fulfill their expectations. The principle behind this law is simple: what you give out is what you receive. No matter who you are, everyone is subject to this spiritual law. We are all spiritual beings having a human experience, and there are inevitable consequences for our actions. When the narcissist makes choices based on superficial desires, they are not aware that these decisions will come back to haunt them. However, narcissists often do not acknowledge these spiritual laws. Instead, they live in the moment, seeking immediate gratification without considering the long-term effects of their actions. They are unable to be present and accountable in their relationships. Instead, they focus on extracting as much emotional fuel as possible from their current situation, which ultimately leads to problems down the line. It is crucial to understand what happens during this "monkey branching" phase. When a narcissist engages in this behavior—essentially cheating on you with someone new—they may seem to be enjoying themselves. They often feel exhilarated, thinking they have found something better. During this time, they may manipulate, lie, and gaslight both you and their new supply. They thrive on the negative energy they extract from their past relationship, using it to fuel their new connection. The narcissist believes they can simply transfer this energy to their new supply, using it to love bomb them and create a façade of happiness. However, when the new supply fails to meet their expectations, the narcissist is left to confront the reality of their poor choices. This realization can be devastating, as they recognize that they have exposed their true selves and made a significant mistake by discarding you.
