The mountains on the west of Lake Como don’t have as many roads to ride as the east - but the round trip through Val Rezzo and Val Carvagna on Route SP 11 and SP10 are a good option to explore small Italian villages on tiny roads - and enjoy the views on the amazing mountains that surround Lake Como I have stayed in several different hotels on the lake - but whenever I visit Como now I make sure to stay a night at hotel Darsena. It’s a down to earth hotel with one of the best views on the lake - and has a fantastic restaurant Instead of heading to the busy town Menaggio, start your trip at Griante and take the ferry to enjoy Lake Como from the middle of the lake Visit Bellagio! Bellagio is often referred to as the Pearl of Lake Como and probably it’s most famous town. It’s colorful old town and majestic villas are worth a day visit - but it can get quite busy with a lot of tourists From Bellagio ride up to the mountains direction Civenna and Gemo - and then turn on Route SP44 that will bring you back to Lake Como over a nice curvy road Don't miss out on having a real Italian Pizza! Take a ferry to Varenna and explore the east side of Lake Como! North of Varenna, Right after the ton Bellano, you find route sp66 - small roads, that snake up the mountains on the shores of lake Como in many serpentines For some amazing scenery in the Como area head to Route SP62, that turns into the much smaller Route SP64 at the town Balisio and SP25 after Avolasio on the way home take the road over Passo San Marco for some mountains with alpine character! // NEW EPISODE OUT EVERY THURSDAY 19:30 CET // Time of the journey: September 2020 // Welcome to the journey!
