Monarch Mountain Spring Break Skiing 2026 | Windy Day on Garfield & Panorama During Spring Break 2026 we headed over to Monarch Mountain in Colorado for a day of skiing in the Sawatch Range. Monarch is known for its laid-back atmosphere, natural snow, and classic Colorado terrain just outside of Salida. Strong winds throughout the day kept us out of some of Monarch’s upper mountain bowl terrain, but the frontside still delivered plenty of great skiing. We spent most of the day skiing laps off Garfield Lift, which offers some of the best classic Monarch terrain. This area provides a mix of groomers, natural snow lines, and playful terrain that makes it a favorite for locals. From Garfield we continued exploring the mountain by skiing off Panorama Lift, which accesses some of Monarch’s highest lift-served terrain and offers incredible views of the surrounding Sawatch Mountains. Even with the wind, the snow held up well in many areas and the terrain offered plenty of fun lines. Throughout the day we focused on skiing the frontside terrain, linking together runs and cruising the mountain while enjoying the classic Monarch vibe. Monarch Mountain is one of Colorado’s most underrated ski areas, known for its natural snow, uncrowded slopes, and authentic ski culture. Even on a windy spring day, there is still plenty of terrain to explore. If you're planning a ski trip through Colorado during spring break, Monarch is absolutely worth a stop. Thanks for watching and follow along for more Colorado ski adventures.
