LECTURE 1 | WHAT IS SUBNETTING | FLSM CONCEPT | A2IT ONLINE What is meant by Subnetting? What is Subnetting and why it is used? What are Subnetting and an example? What is the process of Subnetting? What are the benefits of subnetting? What is a 255.255 subnet? What are subnet and gateway? What is IPv4 subnetting? How many bits is an IP address? What are the 2 types of Subnetting? What are the different types of subnets? Why is the subnet mask always 255? What is the disadvantage of subnetting? What are subnetting list advantages and disadvantages? What are some disadvantages of subnetting? What is the DNS address? What is a masking IP address? What are IPv4 and IPv6? What are the 4 types of IP addresses? What is the maximum IP address? Why IP address is 256? What are the five classes of IP? How many subnets are there? What is a classless IP address? How do subnet IP addresses with examples? What are DHCP and DNS? What is a DHCP server? What is DNS used for? What is a CIDR example? What is a CIDR block? What is an IPv6 address? How many IP addresses are in a subnet? Is IP a subnet? What does 16 mean in IP address? hello everyone welcome to our first class which named as flsm fixed length subnet mask so if you are going to start submitting then you have to learn what is flsm okay so as we know in our ip address we have three usable classes a class b class c class but d and e class is reserved for multicasting and scientific research and recovery so this is not included in subnetting concepts but in a class range 1 to 126 and in b class range 1 to 128 to 191 192 to 223 for c class we have one fixed length subnet mask the fixed length subnet mask is used to divide network id as well as host id from your ip address so a class subnet mask is two five five zero zero zero b class subnet mask is two five five two five five zero and in c class we have three time 255 and zero so according to flsm if we divide our network id and host id then we can create our lan and when concept so if we watch our flsm then the range of uh subnet mask is starting from 255 then in 255 if we divide this decimal into binary then it will show you the value of 8 time 1 because in binary decimal you use the concept of 2 raised to the power 0 2 raised to power 1 up to 2 raised to power 7 and if we convert 0 into our binary then these are 8 0's y eight zeros because i p address is 32 bit address and it is divided into four octets so four octet means 8.8.8.8 so 255 represents eight one zero represents eight zeros like eight hosts one is representing with network id and zero is represents with host id so if you are using a class and in a class your fixed length subnet mask is 2 5 5 0 0 0 then your network bits belongs to 8-bit and host width belongs to 24 bits this represents that 8 bits belongs to network 24 bits belongs to host so in a class you can choose 2 raise to power 24 ip in your one network it is equal to 16 million approx and in b class fixed length subnet mask we have 16 on bit and 16 off bits so in this 16 bit host are there so 6 5 5 36 ip are going to used in b class and in c class 2 5 5 2 5 5 2 5 5 0 is there so 24 bits are from network and 8 bit belongs to host so 2 raised to power host is equal to 256 ips so with the help of subnet mask like fixed length subnet mask you can divide the host from each class in a class 16 million ip in b class 65 kip and in c class 256 ip besides this in fl sm you have to find each class network id network address first valid ip last valid ip and broadcast id so if you are using a class flsm like 25500 and your ip example is 10 0 0 0 so your network id should be 10 0 0 0 your first valid ip is 10 0 0 1 your last ip 10 2 5 5 2 5 5 2 54 and 10 to 55 to 55 this is your broadcast id because your network part remains same in b class if we solve this in b class f l m two five five two five five zero zero then in this like for example you have chosen this network.
