Can A Thicker Oil Help Reduce Oil Consumption? We Compare a 5w30, 5w40 and 5w50 oil - [BMW E90 N52]

There is a common myth that says that a thicker oil will help reduce oil consumption so we test out this theory using a 5w30, 5w40 and 5w50 oil. On our BMW N52 engine, it uses low tension piston rings so using a thicker may not actually help very much.
