This 1996 Gary Fisher Marlin rigid mountain bike was recently given to me by my friend's co-worker. The bike was in good condition but had a few worn out components such as the saddle. In stock form it had a three by seven Shimano Alivio drivetrain with Sram Grip Shift twist shifters. Using only parts I already owned, both used and new, I converted the bike to a Microshift one by nine drivetrain with a trigger shifter. Other parts include a quill stem adapter, alloy stem, alloy handlebar, linear pull brakes, vintage Ritchey Vantage wheels with Bontrager Connection Trail tires, and a vintage Selle San Marco Concor leather saddle. At the end of the day, I'm really pleased with this build. Best of all, this cost me nothing out of pocket!
