Sand Mining Scam in Balasore | Revenue Inspector Accused of ₹100 Crore Illegal Sand Loot

A massive illegal sand mining racket has been exposed in Balasore district of Odisha. Shockingly, a Revenue Inspector is accused of being behind crores of rupees worth of sand loot. The District Mining Officer herself has brought the matter to light and filed a written complaint at Jaleswar police station. Despite Section 144 being imposed at Mohammednagar Patna under Jaleswar tehsil, illegal sand extraction from the Subarnarekha river continued openly. It is alleged that Revenue Inspector Sagar Baske misused his power and created a strong administrative network, while sand lifting operations were handled by his brother and family members. Villagers allege that more than ₹100 crore worth of sand has been looted from the illegal sand ghat.
