Episode 35 of The Great Canadian Road Trip 🇨🇦 This episode begins in Edmonton, Alberta’s provincial capital, where I spend the morning exploring the downtown core. Starting at Sir Winston Churchill Square, I walk past City Hall and into the Ice District, home to Rogers Place and the Wayne Gretzky statue — a fitting tribute in the heart of hockey country. From there, I visit Edmonton’s Outdoor Neon Sign Museum before heading down into the North Saskatchewan River Valley, one of the largest stretches of urban parkland in North America. I take a short bike ride through the river trails and stop by the Alberta Legislature, one of the most striking provincial buildings in the country. The day also includes brief looks at West Edmonton Mall and the historic neighborhood of Old Strathcona. The following day, the journey turns south. Just outside the city, I stop at Leduc No. 1 — the first major oil discovery in Alberta, marking the beginning of the province’s modern energy industry. From there, I drive through central Alberta’s wide-open prairie landscape before arriving in the badlands of Drumheller, home to the Royal Tyrrell Museum and some of the most dramatic scenery in the province. The episode ends as I continue west toward Calgary, closing the chapter on Edmonton and transitioning from the prairies into the heart of Alberta. #TheGreatCanadianRoadTrip #Edmonton #Drumheller #Alberta #NorthSaskatchewanRiver #IceDistrict #WayneGretzky #LeducNo1 #RoyalTyrrellMuseum #PrairieRoads #CanadianRoadTrip #TravelCanada #ExploreCanada
