Clegg Apollo 6 all wrapped up on the bench before being put away.

All done with the Clegg Apollo 6. Uses 2 8632 50 watt sweep/rf power tubes. Looks like those tubes are the king of the sweep tubes, even more powerful than the big bad M-2057's and used for both High power Sweep Tubes and audio and RF amplifier tubes. This amp was 6 meters only, single band, and has been converted to 10 meters only single band. The amp is used as a full grid driven tetrode amp, hence it is low drive, 10 watts max, and produces a low dead key with a lot of swing. It was made in the early 60's before SSB took off. Clegg made some premium quality equipment from the 50's and was bought out by Squires Sanders in the early 60's. Squires Sanders also made some premium quality radio equipment. This amp is well engineered, well designed and heavy. I like it a lot. I think I will keep this one.
