Happy new year everyone!x3 I've been very lazy/filled with study issues -.-/listening to all the C79 albums lately, so this is my first upload in 2011. I hope you had nice holidays and all! Talking about C79 and recent releases, of course the expectations also go higher as time passes. Once there was a really good event, people expect the next one to become just as good or better...at least that was my impression. For me personally I can say that C79 was a blast for Electronic Touhou releases and for classic/folk stuff as well. Just for the vocals, I was impressed by the usual good performers (EastNewSound, C-Clays) but not so much by the vocals from ShibayanRecords for example. But more about that later... C9, oh damn that album was really great for me. Like anything that has been released by the circle so far. I'm going to say that it's one of the best circles when it comes to Touhou Electro and quite certainly one of the best Touhou Hardcore circles. This time I can say again that Cirwo is not only the arranger behind the most songs on the album but also the one whose arranges stand out the most. Shirasawa.A, Jugem-T, ･1110.λ, oh and also Icicle Beatz are doing a great job too, just a bit disappointed by Junk because his only contribution was an arrange of Casket of Star with Cirwo and tbh it's probably my least favourite song on the album. Anyone else thinks that track 8 (an arrange of Voyage 1969) reminds a bit of ALiCE'S EMOTiON's F*CK TEH BEES, I'VE GOT A MOTHERF*CKING MOTHERF*CKER Young Descendant of Tepes? But I could be wrong, maybe it's just an impression... Either way though, for people who are into Touhou Hardcore, this album is probably a blast! I've yet to find a decent number of good Fires of Hokkai arranges, one that comes to mind is the one I posted in the Vocal playlist, from an obscure Touhou circle with usually bad vocals but suddenly being good in that song. But Cirwo's arrange is the first electronic Fires of Hokkai that I really enjoy, if there are others out there, I'd really like to hear them because I tend to miss on a lot of things. Even the heartbeats are there, not only that but the whole arrange does justice to the original IMO. It's well situated in the style of most of the album, hard beats but you recognize the songs. It's not just a big mass of mindblow beats even though this can be pretty nice too, but in really all the songs you recognize that this is the melody from this or that theme. And Fires of Hokkai is very melodic and relies on the "heavy" atmosphere. Hope you enjoy it!^^
