Tip-78; Solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) of the pancreas is a low-grade malignant pancreatic tumor, mostly seen in adolescent females and young women, in the tail of the pancreas. It is considered under the exocrine group of pancreatic tumors, despite its resemblance to endocrine tumors, and per the WHO classification, this tumor lacks a specific line of pancreatic epithelial differentiation. It is composed of poorly cohesive epithelial cells forming solid and pseudopapillary structures. It shows a consistent nuclear/cytoplasmic expression of beta-catenin and cyclin D1, and PR. Other markers include CD10, CD99 (dot-like), CD56, and Cytokeratins (30–70%) of cases. Importantly, Synaptophysin and neuron-specific enolase may be focally positive, but chromogranin-A is typically negative.
