Description: “Lazarus, come out!” (John 11:43) John 11–12 brings us face to face with the heart of the gospel: life from the dead and the choice to follow the One who gives it. It begins at a tomb in Bethany, where grief hangs heavy and hope seems lost. Lazarus—Jesus’ friend—has been dead four days. Yet Jesus arrives not too late, but right on time to reveal the glory of God. 💧 The Resurrection and the Life Martha meets Jesus on the road with words of faith and pain: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” Jesus answers with one of His greatest declarations: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die.” (11:25) Standing before the tomb, Jesus weeps 😢—sharing in our sorrow—and then commands: “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man walks out, still wrapped in grave clothes. It’s a picture of our own salvation: called from death to life, yet needing to leave the old wrappings behind. 🌿 Worship Before the Cross In John 12, Mary of Bethany pours out expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet 💐, wiping them with her hair. This extravagant act of devotion foreshadows His burial and shows us what it means to give Him our best before the hour of suffering. Not long after, the crowds welcome Jesus into Jerusalem 🌴, waving palm branches and shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” They honor Him as King—but few understand the kind of kingdom He brings. 🔥 The Urgency of Belief Jesus speaks with urgency: “The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light… Believe in the light while you have it, so that you may become children of light.” (12:35–36) He knows the cross is near. The opportunity to respond will not last forever. 🕯️ Meditation This passage is not just history—it’s an invitation. We are all Lazarus without Christ: dead in sin, bound in the grave clothes of guilt, shame, and fear. But the voice of the Shepherd calls us by name: “Come out!” 🐑 And when we come out, it is not to stand still—it is to follow Him. Following Jesus means: Leaving the tomb of sin 🪦 Laying down what is costly in worship 💝 Walking in the light before night falls 🌅 Honoring Him as King—not on our terms, but on His The question is not whether Jesus can give life. He already has proven that. The question is: Will you step out and follow? 🙌 Application for Today What “grave clothes” still bind you that Jesus wants to remove? How can you offer Him costly worship before the crowd changes its tune? Are you walking in the light now—or waiting until it’s almost gone? Come out of the tomb. Follow the One who is the Resurrection and the Life. And like Lazarus, let your life become a living testimony of the glory of God. #John11 #John12 #ResurrectionAndLife #ComeOutAndFollow #BibleNarration #Hosanna #WalkInTheLight #GospelOfJohn #LazarusRaised #FollowJesus Timestamps: 00:00 - John 11 07:31 - John 12
