(22 Sep 2000) Russian/Nat XFA Borislav Milosevic, the older brother of Slobodan Milosevic, told reporters in Moscow on Friday that the Yugoslav President will recognise the outcome of Sunday's elections - whatever it may be. Milosevic dismissed Montenegrin leader Milo Djukanovic's recent warnings that Belgrade is ready to use military force against the smaller of the two republics that comprise the Yugoslav federation. He also lashed out at the European Union leaders for interference in Yugoslavia's internal affairs Borislav Milosevic, who serves as Belgrade's ambassador to Moscow, is seen as a part of his brother's "inner circle" and on many previous occasions his statements were used as an indicator of the Belgrade regime's intentions. SOUNDBITE: (Russian) "Those who predict that Slobodan Milosevic will cling to power and will not respect the outcome of the elections are wrong. Slobodan Milosevic respects the constitution. Also, it very well could happen that Slobodan Milosevic will get elected. So, I think, all this noise about cancellation and falsification of the elections results is just a smoke screen for some." There is no threat that force will be used against Mr. Djukanovic and his power in Montenegro. The people of Montenegro will make their own choice. His (Djukanovic) position towards the elections has now become quite evident." SUPERCAPTION: Borislav Milosevic, Slobodan Milosevic's brother SOUNDBITE: (Russian) "A lot of lies about the Yugoslav leadership are being spread around. Open and shameless pressure is being applied on the Yugoslav people so they vote against the President Milosevic, against the current Yugoslav authorities. It is like sword is being raised over the heads of our voters."
