Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? It is when you can't buy that cute vase but you really think it would look great on your console! Being inspired by a designer piece and then figuring out how to create it yourself is a lot of fun. In this video, there are two vases from Restoration Hardware that I like and want to dup. One turns out spot on, while the other....sort of falls of the tracks. But in a good way, if that makes sense! I start with plain thrifted home items that are pretty boring. On their own they don't make a statement or even look interesting. And that's the great part about dups! From blah to designer and you do it yourself. It's rewarding to create these designer looks on a shoestring budget.
