A song with many interpretations - only ONE José Montserrate Feliciano Garcia! In 1971, the young Puerto Rican guitarist/singer performed this Italian song (written by Jimmy Fontana, Franco Migliacci, Carlo Pes)) at a music festival in Italy. It became popular in Italy and Europe. He later recorded it in Spanish creating a hit in Central and South America. Though the lyrics are different in English (entitled "Shake a Hand"), he had a hit with this version in Scandinavian countries. In the U.S., Doris Day popularized the "what will be, will be" song ("qué sera, sera" - title in Spanish and French). She first sang it in the 1956 Hitchcock movie, "The Man Who Knew Too Much" Along with others of my generation, I discovered Feliciano in the mid 60s, early 70s. His "Feliz Navidad" (1970) is internationally known as well as his rendition of the Doors' song, "Light My Fire". Although Americans in general may not be as well acquainted with Feliciano's virtuoso performances, he is highly regarded and been widely acclaimed in other parts of the world, especially Latin America. And, just in case you didn't know, he was born blind, is a self-taught musician and plays several musical instruments. The acoustic guitar is his favorite. He is 66 years old, married with children and lives in Connecticut. The song, "Che sarà" can be found on his 1971 album by the same name.
