Orchitop pots review + Kiwi bark and clay media for orchids

Today we are taking a look at the Orchitop pots for orchids and the media they also provide, consisting of Kiwi bark and clay pebbles. The Orchitop pots are quite famous for their unique design that provides tremendous amounts of aeration. So let's make a product review! The pots come in 3 sizes, the small one (10 cm width), the medium size (13 cm widts) and a large size (18 cm width). You also have an option to chose from various colors, or even go for a transparent pot. The pots are made from food safe poly-carbonate and food dies. The Orchitop pots come with an attachable tray, or dish, which slides under the pot and keeps it well above any water that might accumulate in the dish. There is also the option to hang these pots, by using the hooks they come with and also the threads provided. As a first impression, these pots are prettier in person than how they look like in person, it's one of those pots you can envision having in your home. They are also stable, the dish is quite wide and keeps the pot stable, this is something I do like. The roots are free to come out of the pot through the plastic bars, so if you are weary of roots creeping through, you are in for a surprise. The biggest pro is indeed the amount of aeration these pots provide, I think the chances of root rot are very very slim. However this can mean more frequent watering, but this will depend on your environment and the media you use. The Kiwi bark is a lovely surprise, I like the fact that it's very clean and I personally like the smell. It can be quite powerful at first and it stings, but it is fresh and I am thinking to use this bark for some other orchids as well, after I see how this Phalaenopsis orchid likes it. The clay pebbles need a good rinse, as all clay it leaves behind a very fine dust, don't inhale it just go rinse it well before using it. Overall I am excited to see how these orchids will like the pots and media, I will continue repotting other types of orchids in these pots in my future videos!
