This is an example of Target's repair methods being used to repair a building that is subsiding. It incorporates Bar Flex crack stitching, Bar Flex masonry beaming and Heli Pile underpinning. Firstly, Bar Flex masonry reinforcement is installed at multiple levels to create elastic masonry beams. This will allow the imposed loads to span over weakened ground and between the pile points without the masonry cracking. Bar Flex is also used to crack stitch over any cracks in the masonry. The Heli Piles are then installed quickly and unobtrusively to help support the foundations and prevent further movement. As you can see, the Heli Pile provides a quicker, cleaner solution to traditional underpinning methods and requires very little excavation. Finally, Bow Flex is installed into the second floor joist to provide a clean fix to bowing walls.
