After arriving for maintenance on May 16 and spending several months in dry berth, Orca is carefully prepared for her return to the water on September 10. This behind-the-scenes look captures the full process as the loader arrives, the team guides the ship along the spur line, rotates her on the turntable, and pushes her onto the cradle for float-off. Filmed handheld until the float-off sequence, when I switched to my tripod, the video highlights the precision, experience, and teamwork of the Point Hope Maritime Shipyard crew. Located in Victoria’s working harbour, Point Hope continues its long tradition of West Coast ship repair and maintenance. The shipyard services a wide range of vessels including tugboats, barges, pilot boats, private yachts, and Royal Canadian Navy ships that keep Canada’s coastal waters moving.
