We are flying Legal Eagle XL ORV with the Verner 3V. We have been wanting for some time to be able to record audio to GoPro camera while flying. We are getting really close and this is the first take on what hopes to be more audio while flying describing what is happening. We have find tuning to go, getting the squelch set just right, getting my habits to hold mike close to lips before speaking and squelching my radio to shut out distance transmissions. We are still working on using blue tooth to record video, presently we are wired, to the camera out on the wing. I have the pieced that should work but have not had time to test them yet. At least we have solid progress now and the weather is improving so hoping form many more flights in coming weeks. We want to show what the Legal Eagle looks like and how it handles various flight conditions. ORV is a part 103 Ultralight, as such we cannot take passengers but we can carry a video camera to share out flight experience with those interested in flying, Ultralights and the Legal Eagle XL. We are not fast but have lots of fun, it should be noted I am flying at max gross weight. I weight 275 pounds, I have a friend that weight 160 pounds, when he fly's my machine his climb rate is more that twice what mine is and he cruises, at same power setting, about 12 mph faster. Remember, build light and lighten yourself for maximum fun flying. We are using a 42 hp, at 2500 rpm, 3 cylinder Radial engine, Verner 3V, with 135 pounds of torque. This allows us to use a larger diameter prop and a more efficient prop. On my other LE I use a Warp Drive ground adjustable prop. This flying machine is made one piece at a time, fuselage is made of 4130 chrome moly tubing, .035 wall thickness, wings are made of aircraft plywood and spruce and covered with 1.7 ounce fabric. My wings are painted with latex house paint. Fuel tank is 5 gallons.
