(Rare Track) CANDY KISSES ATLANTIS/TOTAL CLIMAX & THE ROOFTOP CONNECTION/EARLY TEDDY RILEY

“Sharing A Memory” I Came across This track on an old cassette tape and just wanted to share a memory, it was from a band I had the pleasure of joining after Danny Atherton Sr. (Drummer) had left the group to pursue other musical ventures. Also Fonzie Smith (Bassist) at that time wanted to pursue a 9 to 5 with the MTA system. The name of the band was “Total Climax/Atlantis” The group had a single release on Chaz Ro Records in 1982 titled “Keep On Movin’ & Groovin” under the moniker “Atlantis “ another Royal Bayyan production. The group had evolved into Atlantis when I came in. This track below was never released to my knowledge it was only a (Demo) Titled “Candy Kisses” All of the original players were still in the band. Players consisted of Jerome Dickens (Guitar & Vocals) Darryl Walker (Vocals) Ralph Rosario (Lead & background Vocals) Teddy Riley (Keyboard Bass & Keyboards) Ralph Vargas aka Da Phunky Drumma Two key members missing from the original lineup was Alphonso “Fonzie” Smith (Bass) and Danny Atherton Sr. R.I.P 🙏🏽 (Drums) they were two of the original founding members of “Total Climax” This track was produced, written and arranged by Royal Bayyan. Also on this track are additional female background vocals by “Something Sweet” Lisa Fischer, Joan Motley, Cynthia Huggins, Renee Walker. This track was recorded in mid to late 70’s at Unique Recording Studios 701 7th Ave 9th Fl. New York, NY 10036 it brought back wonderful memories of showcasing at SIR rehearsal studios and rehearsals at the legendary Rooftop skating rink uptown in Harlem. It made me realize how much time has gone by. Man. . . I miss those days , oh how I truly miss those days.
