Troubleshooting Tips to Avoid E4 Errors: Remember to always start the melter on the lowest heat setting with with the power set to 600 watts. 1600 watts should only be selected when the the tank is halfway full of wax, and a harder wax is being used. Leave the lid off while your melter heats up. Slab wax should be broken down into smaller pieces to cover the bottom of the melter in order to avoid dry heat errors. If your unit needs to be reset, please allow it to cool down to room temperature. We do not recommend this vessel for melt and pour soap; however, it is suitable for master batching oils for cold or hot process soap.
