Welcome to 'Learn English with Deaf Talks’. 1.Noun What is a noun? A noun is a word that names a person, place, thing or idea. You all know that. Anything can come under Nouns. Eg. Rahul, dog, work, music, town, London, teacher, John etc Nouns are an important part of language. Nouns help us talk about the world around us and express our ideas. Imagine a world without nouns - we wouldn't be able to talk about our favourite things or describe the people we love. Nouns can be concrete, meaning things we can touch and see, such as "dog", "book", or "tree". etc They can also be abstract, representing ideas or qualities that we can't physically see, such as "love", "happiness", or "sad". Etc Nouns can be singular or plural. Singular nouns represent one person, thing, or concept, such as "cat" or "tree". Plural nouns represent more than one, like "cats" or "trees". We can usually make a noun plural by adding "s" or "es" at the end, but there are some irregular nouns that change their form, like "child" becoming "children". We will explain more about singular and plural in the coming days. Nouns can be classified into two categories, proper nouns and common nouns. Proper nouns are specific names given to individuals, places, or things. and they always start with a capital letter. This is an important rule in English Grammar. Examples include names of people like "John", names of cities like "London", or names of companies like "Apple". Common nouns, meaning groups or things in a general way. They are everywhere, and you use them all the time. Wherever you go, you’ll find at least one common noun. Street, closet, bathroom, school, mall, gas station, living room; They don't need a capital letter unless they start a sentence. For example, My dog’s name is Lola. Dog- common noun Lola- proper noun So remember Nouns are very important, it helps us to communicate clearly and make sentences with meaning and expression. Hope you all are clear.
