If Brutus is punched enough times at the left edge of the pier, he will fall into the ocean and you earn 5 points. Punch Brutus into the ocean enough times and Olive will kick down a can of spinach, which can be used to defeat Brutus and save Olive for 15 points. As the game progresses, Brutus will throw punches faster and more frequently. Brutus will take 3 hits (5 hits at the left edge of the pier) when last two digits are between 31-70, and 4 hits (6 hits at the left edge of the pier) when last two digits are between 71-00. When Popeye is at the right edge of the pier and gets punched by Brutus, Popeye will fall into the ocean and a miss is scored. If you reach 300 points, all misses are erased and a fanfare sounds, and if you reach 300 points with no misses, you will receive double points until you miss. In Game B, there is a swordfish that will poke Popeye at the left of the pier and knock him back.
