Step-by-step guide Park on a level surface, engage the parking brake Place the chocks on both sides of the tire. Lift the rear of the car on the passenger side and secure it with jack stands. The fuel filter is located on the passenger side, just in front of the rear wheel. Place a pan or rags underneath to catch any spilled fuel. Disconnect the fuel lines by pushing the release clips and sliding the lines off. Remove the screw holding the filter to its bracket Then, slide or unclip the old filter out of its housing. Push the new filter into place and re-secure the Phillips screw. Push the fuel lines back onto the filter fittings until you hear a click to ensure they are locked in place. Then start the engine and check carefully for any leaks at the fuel line connections.
