(18 Dec 1995) English/Nat Swedish soldiers who were in Tuzla as part of U-N peacekeeping efforts have agreed to join the NATO forces there. The formal handover to the Implementation Force is expected to take place on Wednesday -- but the Swedish soldiers signed their new contracts today. A change of assignment -- a change of colours for Swedish peacekeepers in Tuzla: Out goes the United Nations trademark white... On goes the camouflage paint. SOUNDBITE: (English) "We need three weeks to take the paint off and we have one and a half tonnes of colour to do it." SUPER CAPTION: Captain Bjork, Swedish Officer A change at the top, too: those distinctive blue helmets are disappearing under the camouflage colours of the NATO forces. SOUNDBITE: (English) "Today is the big day. We are starting the painting of all our cars in camouflage green and also we also got the new green equipment to our helmets and we have got our green caps while we are waiting for our green berets. And tonight we're going to take off all our U-N markings because today we are I-FOR and all wearing green."
