My girlfriend and I both practice archery and it's become somewhat of a passion for us. For a long time, I've been wanting to make her a leather quiver in the same style as I made for myself some time ago (check Instagram: / cb7j4wnhs8n . I had already created an archery bracer for her and used one of my first sketches for leather carving designs; therefore, it was only appropriate, in my opinion, to come up with a matching design for the quiver's carving. I worked off a template which I use to make quivers. The item ends up having a tear-shaped opening which holds between 12-16 wooden arrows (more if one uses thinner carbon-fibre ones) and due to the leather's flexible nature, it holds them snugly at an angle which doesn't let them fall out easily. The quiver itself is made from thick veg-tan leather. This let me carve the design on it easily and let me tool it to achieve the desired effect. I used a dark brown, water-mixing, leather dye for this project which turned out to be redder in the video than it is in real life (I still need to learn to colour-correct my videos, oops!), but it's expected to lighten up a bit in the next few days. This was the first time I stamped one of my projects with my own logo, so it was a big step forward; both professionally and personally, as I never thought I would see recognition on an item, out in the world, which I spent time to meticulously craft. All in all, this was a great project for me. I simply put some music in my ears and worked. The camera did get in the way sometimes, but it was never too big a deal. The leather working station also worked brilliantly! I had all the tools I needed within reach, when I needed them, so massive thumbs up to past-Kurt for procuring this for present- and future-Kurt; your impulse-buying decisions have certainly been beneficial....this time. (Click here to check out the video where I set up the station: • Workshop Reorganizing & Arbor Press Mods /... ) I left this video as a crafting video without commentary. I've explained the principles of leather working before, and there are plenty of other channels like Weaver Leather Supply and Skill Tree (by my buddy Cl3ver) who have excellent tutorials. That being said, I will still make tutorial project videos, so make sure to subscribe (and click that bell icon) to know when that happens!
