Crossing the wooden Ponte dell’Accademia / Accademia Bridge, we enjoy one of Venice’s most celebrated views of the Grand Canal. The walk then follows the Zattere Promenade / Zattere Gesuati, a long waterfront popular with locals for evening strolls and views over the Giudecca Canal. At Campo Santo Stefano / Santo Stefano Square, once a centre of public gatherings and celebrations, Venice opens into one of its largest and most lively squares. The journey continues to the Rialto Bridge, the oldest and most iconic of Venice’s crossings, surrounded by the market district that once pulsed with global trade. Finally, the path leads us to Piazza San Marco / St. Mark’s Square, the grand stage of Venice, where the Basilica, the Campanile, and the Clock Tower tell stories of empire, faith, and ceremony. 📖 Stories & Facts Along the Way The Grand Canal curves through Venice like a great S – its main artery of commerce and ceremony.
