Have you ever made a mistake that just ate at you for a while, until you finally came to terms with why you made the mistake? In on such instance, I failed to hire a great candidate. All because I brought my bias and ego into the room. If I would have checked my ego and bias at the door, I would have made a great hire. Fortunately, I learned from my mistake and now keep an open mind when interviewing. Asking questions in places that I'm uncertain of my comprehension. Letting your ego or bias drive decisions is a great way to miss out on some successes. However, learning from your mistakes is not. What are some mistakes you've learned the most from?
