The Parkland Burn Formula is used to calculate the amount of fluid needed after a burn. Lactated Ringer's is the most common fluid administered for burns. In this video I will use the Parkland Burn Formula to do some practice questions. The Parkland burn formula is: 4 mL of LR x BSA % burned x kg body weight = total amount of fluids needed 24 hours after a burn injury The Rule of 9s is a tool used to estimate a burn's percentage of total skin.
