This week’s episode is a big one for the farm. We kick things off by heading out across the water with a few new arrivals loaded onto the back of our boat. Once we land back at the island, the first challenge is getting the animals safely off the boat and settled into their new home. After the animals are comfortable, we jump right into more pasture work. With the herd growing, we need more space cleared, so Kelly and I spend the afternoon topping a few big trees around the pens—ones that could have caused trouble for the fencing down the line. With the outdoor work wrapped up for the day, we head inside for a good meal. Kelly whips up a hearty lunch of bacon, eggs, and homemade toutons—fresh, fried dough that hits the spot after a day of clearing land. Later, we head back out by boat, making a trip down to the lower harbour to pick up a used oil tank we've been waiting on. Back at home, Kelly gets to work using her welding and metalworking skills to repurpose it into a heavy-duty garage incinerator. Before the day ends, we fire up the new incinerator and burn our first load of garbage—a big step forward in making life a little more manageable out here. We finish off the episode with a sit-down Q&A, answering some more of your questions from the comments. Thanks for following along with us—every week brings new challenges, new progress, and plenty more to come.
