This is a perfect comfort food for lunch or dinner, with soft and tender arvi (colocasia/taro root) cooked in a rich, flavorful gravy, packed with traditional spices and a tangy kick that will keep you coming back for more. Ingredients: 500g Arvi (Colocasia/Taro Root), peeled and sliced 2 medium onions, finely chopped 2 tomatoes, chopped 2-3 green chilies, chopped 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste 1 teaspoon cumin seeds 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds (methi) 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste) 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 teaspoon coriander powder 1 teaspoon garam masala Salt to taste 2 tablespoons oil Fresh coriander leaves for garnish 2 cups water Method: 1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and fenugreek seeds. Let them crackle. 2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. 3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook until fragrant. 4. Add tomatoes and cook until they become soft and the oil starts to separate. 5. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well. 6. Add the arvi slices and stir them to coat with the spices. 7. Pour in water, cover, and let it simmer until the arvi is tender and fully cooked. 8. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. 9. Serve hot with naan, roti, or rice, and enjoy this flavorful dhaba-style Arvi Ka Salan!
