Date filmed: 22/12/2019 Route: Portsmouth Direct Line Milford Staiton Location: Station Lane, Milford Trains: Class 450s (South Western Railway) (Triple) - Departs at 2:33 Half barrier level crossing located next to Milford Station. One of the E2S alarms here is very oddly set to a different tone (a French fire alarm tone) than these alarms usually are set to at level crossings, and it sounds very different to every other E2S alarm that can be heard at a level crossing in the UK! This alarm also plays the "Warning, more than one train may be approaching" voice message. The level crossing is at quite an angle, and it also has 1990s Smiths Industries half barriers and two gates for the exit-side of the crossing on each side. Both alarms here are very quiet considering the length of the crossing. Strike action for South Western Railway was in progress on the day of recording, so there were more triple class 450s out in service than usual to ensure a reasonable amount of stock was still in service. Thanks for watching!
