Watch the mesmerizing yet powerful satellite timelapse of Super Typhoon Fung-Wong (known locally as Uwan in the Philippines) as it developed, intensified, and tracked across the Western Pacific in November 2025. This video compresses the storm's entire lifecycle into a few minutes, highlighting its massive size and evolution into a Category 4-equivalent super typhoon. Storm Timeline & Details: Formed: November 3, 2025 Peak Intensity: Reached Category 4-equivalent super typhoon status on November 9, with 1-minute sustained winds up to 215 km/h (130 mph). Landfall (Philippines): Struck Dinalungan, Aurora province, on the main island of Luzon on the evening of November 9. Landfall (Taiwan): Made secondary landfall as a tropical storm in Pingtung County on November 12. Dissipated: November 13, 2025 Impact: Fung-Wong was a very large typhoon, notable for its exceptional diameter of approximately 1,800 kilometers (1,100 miles), which meant its effects spanned nearly the entire Philippines archipelago. It caused widespread flooding, landslides, and power outages, forcing more than a million people to evacuate, just days after Typhoon Kalmaegi had already devastated the central Philippines. The storm resulted in at least 27 deaths in the Philippines and 95 injuries in Taiwan.
