A multi-vehicle crash involving approximately 20 cars has occurred on the N12 West highway near Edenvale, resulting in a complete traffic standstill. The collision occurred primarily in the fast lane, leaving debris that blocked all traffic. Emergency services are on-site to manage the situation, with the highway cordoned off for the safe removal of vehicles and investigation. Two male drivers sustained serious injuries; one was taken to a Medical Centre and the other to Union Hospital. Eight individuals suffered minor injuries and received on-site care. Significant delays for motorists are expected, and diversions are in place as authorities work to clear the scene. Here's a short weather forecast for South Africa today: Good day, South Africa! Today, expect cooler and cloudy conditions across southern and eastern regions of South Africa as a cold front moves through. Scattered thunderstorms are anticipated over areas including the Highveld, Gauteng, parts of North West, Bushveld, and KwaZulu-Natal along with surrounding locales. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued several impact-based warnings: Yellow Level 4 Warning: Severe thunderstorms are expected in the Mpumalanga Highveld, which may result in damaging winds, hail, and heavy rainfall, leading to localized flooding. Yellow Level 1 for localized flooding and potential damage to properties, settlements, vehicles, and infrastructure are predicted for most of Mpumalanga, with the exception of the Lowveld, northern Gauteng, and the far eastern areas of North West.
