Ellen encourages starting with your personal network with getting started with affiliate marketing. She says to put on your detective hat and see who you already know that could be a good fit for your product or service for which you're trying to generate referrals. For Kajabi specifically, she recommends looking for online business owners who may be struggling with technical challenges or who are spending a lot on multiple different tools. To get to the higher levels as a Kajabi partner, she started hosting her own challenges - three-day bootcamps where she helps new online course creators get their first paid students. She's hosted three as of the end of 2021. On the second day of the challenge, she gets the students building in Kajabi so they get familiar with the software. She has them start their free trial the night before. Then, they feel more confident in choosing Kajabi to host their online because they have already invested hours into building on the platform with Ellen's guidance. Many Kajabi Partners take an active role with affiliate marketing and offer this sort of advanced, hands-on training. She also discusses with power of connecting your audience with or hosting Q&A sessions. Making it easy for your potential referrals to get their questions answered directly can give them the confidence to move forward and convert.
