👉Tank 1990 is a hack of the Famicom game Battle City, developed and released in 1990 by Yanshan Software. It changes the levels of the original game. 👉The original release was in the form of a multicart containing 14 different sets of level hacks, labeled from "Tank A" to "Tank N". Later releases only feature the Tank A mode, disabling the 14-in-1 selection menu. There are 2 new weapons: a ship that allow the tanks to move in the water and a gun that increase your power to maximum and make you invulnerable to three enemy shots. The bushes can be destroyed with maximum power. The enemies tanks can catch the power ups and every tank type may have shielding. The players tanks start with the first upgrade of the original game. ================================================ 👉These are the tanks that the first and second players control. Player 1 controls the yellow tank, and player 2 controls the green tank simultaneously. Both tanks can only have one of their own shots on the screen at one time, and may not fire again until the shot hits an enemy or collides with a wall. 👉Unless a force field is surrounding the tanks, preventing them from taking damage, they can be destroyed by one enemy bullet. If one player shoots another, it will prevent the other player from moving, although it will still be possible to turn and fire. 👉You start out at the bottom of the screen next to your base. Enemy tanks will appear from one of three positions at the top of the screen. In each stage, there are 20 tanks in total you must defeat in order to advance to the next stage. 👉You can fire in four directions. Most tanks only require one hit to destroy them. One type of tank requires four hits. 👉If one enemy bullet hits you, you lose one life. If your base is ever hit by a bullet, the game is automatically over. 👉Bullets can destroy walls, whether they are fired by you or the enemy. It takes four shots to break through a standard width wall. 👉Enemy tanks that flash red provide power-ups whenever hit. The power up will appear randomly somewhere on the screen. ================================================ Power-Ups : A power-up will spawn in one of 16 random locations on the screen whenever one of the three flashing tanks (which appear in each stage as the 4th, 11th, and 18th tank to spawn) is hit. They will disappear when another flashing tank spawns. Touching a power-up will collect it (it will then disappear) and you will earn 500 points as the power-up's effect is activated. 👉Grenade Destroys every enemy currently on the screen. No credit given for destroying the tanks wiped out by this powerup during the end-stage bonus points tally. If enemies tanks catch up, you will be instantly destroyed 👉Helmet Gives a temporary force field that shields from enemy shots, like the one at the beginning of every stage. If enemies tanks catch up, they will gain armor 👉Shovel Turns the brick walls around the fortress to stone, which gives temporary invulnerability to the walls, preventing enemies from destroying it. Repairs all the damage previously done to the wall. If enemies tanks catch up, your fortress will be vulnerable 👉Star Increases your offensive power by one tier (tiers are: default, second, third, and fourth). Power level only resets to default when you die. First star (second tier): fired bullets are as fast as Power Tanks' bullets. Second star (third tier): two bullets can be fired on the screen at a time. Third star (fourth tier): fired bullets can destroy steel walls and are twice as effective against brick walls. If enemies tanks catch up, they can break stone walls 👉Tank Gives an extra life. The only other way to earn an extra life is to score 20,000 points. If enemies tanks catch up, they will turn into flashing tanks 👉Timer The timer power-up temporarily freezes time, stopping all enemy tanks' movement.
