Bill Inmon, regarded as the father of the data warehouse, gives an introduction to the issues resulting from a proliferation of data marts around data warehouses. Then Francesco Puppini, a freelance consultant in business intelligence and data warehousing, presents in detail the approach he is pioneering for the unified star schema (the "Puppini Bridge"). Are you are building marts for your Data Vault using a Kimball approach BUT... Kimball's star schemas have a big limitation: he does not tell you what to do when a query involves multiple fact tables. How do we merge two star schemas?
