“Longitudinal associations between exclusive and dual use of electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) and cigarettes and cardiovascular disease among adults: Key findings and methodological considerations” DATE + TIME: Tue Jan 25, 2022 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM SPEAKERS: Dr. Jana Hirschtick (Assistant Research Scientist, University of Michigan School of Public Health) and Dr. Steve Cook (Senior Research Area Specialist, University of Michigan School of Public Health) DESCRIPTION: In this webinar, CAsToR junior investigators Dr. Hirschtick and Dr. Cook review one of the first longitudinal analyses of associations between exclusive and dual use of ENDS and cigarettes and diagnosed cardiovascular disease using the Population Assessment of Tobacco & Health (PATH) Study. In addition to presenting key findings, they discuss important methodological considerations for these types of analyses, including confounding control, reducing the potential for reverse causation, key sensitivity analyses, and different approaches to applying the PATH weights.
