The Lion King: Simba's Mighty Adventure is a 2D platformer game based on the Lion King series, specifically the first two movies (I haven't watched the second movie). It's basically a retelling of both movies in game form. Probably. I didn't even know there was a second movie. The game looks good for the system, similar to games like Rayman (the GBC game) and it also has stills from the movies that are high quality for the console it's on. The gameplay? It's another alright platformer, very reminiscent of the first Lion King game, with 10 levels. The movement does feel a little bad but you get used to it. There are 100 stars every level which you can collect for an extra life after 100 of them, and 5 pieces of an amulet that grants you access to one of 4 bonus stage with Timon and Pumbaa where you can earn more stars (I play each of the minigames once). There are also 2 top-down autoscrollers where you just avoid stuff. They're the worst parts of the game, in my opinion. There's also bosses, but they're whatever. Trust me though, I only beat Zazu easily because I played the game once first before recording. I wonder who knew what to do without watching a gameplay video first, or being confused on what to do for a few moments. The worst aspect of the game, in my opinion, is the music. There's only four tracks in the game, one being a short tune for dying or getting a Game Over, and the same repetitive level track is used for ALL THE LEVELS!!!! Not to mention that it feels out of place, and kind of off-putting in my opinion. At least there's a separate theme for the bonus stages, but it's equally as repetitive. So is this game worth to play? Well I guess if you really like The Lion King, this game is a nice enough way to experience The Lion King and its sequel in game form. However, don't expect the game to be great. It's decent, and that's all it is. A decent game. I will admit though that if the level music was better, not too repetitive and more than one song, I'd probably like the game more.
