Prior to playing her mother Karen Clark Sheard in the Lifetime movie biopic The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel, (Produced by Queen Latifa, Mary J. Blige & Missy Elliott) she moved the audience in an impromptu mic toss from R&B Diva Faith Evans with a soulful adlib on Tears of Joy from the R&B Divas album. It was also a family affair with her brother, producer J. Drew Sheard II (JDS Productions) on drums who was also Evans’ music director. In addition to the movie soundtrack, Kierra has also released a self titled album which features collaborations with Missy Elliott, LeAndria Johnson, Tasha Cobbs-Leonard and Todd Dulaney. The success from her singles Don’t Judge Me (feat. Missy Elliott), Something Has to Break and It Keeps Happening recently put her in the #1 position on the Top Gospel Billboard Chart which was previously held by Kanye West.
