Eid Family Gathering 2026 On the 22nd of March 2026, the Peterborough Bangladesh Welfare Association brought our community together for a joyful Eid family gathering — a day filled with faith, culture, and celebration. The programme began with a beautiful recitation from the Holy Qur’an, setting a peaceful and spiritual tone for the day. This was followed by the Bangladeshi national anthem, sung with pride by everyone present. From the very start, the children were full of energy — answering quiz questions, taking part in fun activities, and filling the hall with excitement. One of the most cherished traditions of Eid — giving ‘salami’ — brought smiles to every child’s face. Elders lovingly handed out Eid gifts, a moment enjoyed by both generations and a beautiful reminder of our cultural roots. The community also celebrated the achievements of our young stars. Students who excelled in their GCSE exams were honoured with trophies, recognising their hard work and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps. Another highlight of the day was the gardening competition — always a favourite. Participants showcased their creativity and passion, and the award for best gardening was proudly presented to this year’s winner. Local talents lit up the stage with songs that brought nostalgia, joy, and togetherness to the room. And of course, no Eid gathering is complete without delicious food. A wonderful spread was served, enjoyed by families and friends of all ages. It was a day filled with laughter, connection, and celebration — a true reflection of the unity and spirit of our Bangladeshi community here in Peterborough.
