Atkin's unique scalloped bracing configuration and super-thin aged lacquer finish result in a guitar that's surprisingly open and big-sounding (they've got a lot more oomph in the low end than you'd expect). And if you've longed for the sweet, woody sound of a Banner-era slope-shouldered dreadnought, but you've been put off by the baseball-bat neck profile, we think you'll warm to Atkin's modern C-shaped neck, which strikes a nice balance between substance and playability. This "Reserve" level J-43 upgrades the standard model with a baked Adirondack Spruce top and Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard & bridge.
