Corn Silage Harvest on a Small Dairy Farm

We harvested our 4 hectares of silage corn. Shortly after the harvest began, one of the bearings on the combine header failed, causing a delay of about 4 hours, so we did most of the work in the dark. There were 4 drivers, farmers that are returning us the favour. You can see that the big Deutz uses our trailer whic is a bit small for it - the reason is the steep fields. My dad used the Pottinger loading wagon for the steepest parts. We covered the silos the next day. 2 silos are full and we will add some more grass to the third silo. We have 60 heads of cattle, mainly simmetal breed and we milk about 35 of them. We farm in a fairly hilly area so our equipment is relatively small. Currently we own 4 tractors: Fiat DT55-56, New Holland TN70DA, Deutz Fahr Agroplus 85 and John Deere 5085M. We work around 21,5 hectares of mainly grass fields and about 2,5 hectares for silage corn. We also have 7 hectares of forest.
