How to make a floral background. for around $30 using 6 different kinds of flowers made from coffee filters! This video will show you how to make your own floral background for weddings, parties, proms, homecomings, selfies, professional photo shoots or whatever you want to use it for. Dimensions are 40" by 30", but you can join as many of them as you like to suit your needs. They can also be made in any color or color combinations with or without greenery. Simply use a green paint that you like in the same way as you would color the flowers and cut out the shapes and sizes you want and glue them to the backs of whichever flowers you choose. You can also make any flower in the amount that you choose to create any look. Have fun with this project! It's very relaxing, satisfying, VERY USEFUL IN LOTS OF APPLICATIONS and very reasonably priced. Like, comment and SUBSCRIBE for more super creative and reasonably priced projects and dupes!!! Thanks for watching my first video!! More to come!! More money to save!! More amazing looking projects!! To skip to what you will need and instruction: 57 seconds (2 to 4) 6 oz. bottles of craft paint in whatever color combination you choose. Walmart at $.50 the paint will be combined with water. if you choose to add more paint for a darker color, note that any more than double the recommended amount of paint will change the texture of the petals or leaves. the more paint, the more pigment, the stiffer the petals. about 1/2 cup of water per 50 coffee filters a teaspoon to mix and measure paint 10 packs of 150 ct. coffee filters from dollar tree About 300 pieces of twig for the stems. if you don't have them, wooden skewers or tooth pics from Dollar Tree could be used as a substitute but the toothpicks will harder to work with and not as strong. The skewers will need a cutting tool that is strong enough to repeat quite a few times and will add about $3.00 to your total cost. a pan large enough (10") for the coffee filters to lay flat. Dollar Tree has it for $1.00 for a 2 pack. scissors masking tape Dollar Tree $1.00 for a 2 pack. 5 foam boards from Dollar Tree $1.00 each Wire Dollar Tree 3 pack $1.00 Clamps Dollar Tree 6 pack $1.00 3 Bottles of Elmer's School Glue Walmart about $.90. any white water based glue will work. you can use a glue gun if you prefer but it brings the cost of the finished product up about $5.00 and may not be as durable. A blow dryer Box cutter Dollar Tree 3 pack $1.00 Ribbon or Toole I got Toole from Walmart for a little under $3.00 a pen or a marker (optional) You will need about 300 flowers, but you can use more or less depending on the desired fullness. To join more than one set of boards, simply repeat the process using the same procedure as you did to join the first set and use more wire as well to connect them. If more that 4 (2 sets or more) are joined, I recommend attaching them to a thin sheet of plywood. otherwise assembling them at the chosen venue is the easiest way This flower board is paper so exposing it to water is NOT RECOMENDED! While it won't last forever, it can be dusted and repaired if needed. The pic for my thumbnail and intro/outro pics were taken when the board was 6 MONTHS OLD and we live in a very dusty house...no matter what we do, lol. It holds up pretty well. This board can also be done with a drill and painted plywood instead of foam board using white glue. I recommend painting the board the same color as the floral color. I just looks better no matter what. Nothing about this project needs to be perfect, but pay close attention to make sure it is structurally sound. If you use plywood, the braces should be either metal and screws similar to metal hinges, only the flat kind, or similarly cut pieces of plywood and small wood screws and Carpenter's glue. I have done this project using flat water based interior house paint using the same procedure and it came out just as beautiful only slightly more pigmented. This would be beautiful when choosing darker colors for your flowers. If you would like to protect your hands, gloves can be used in the painting and gluing processes.
