Tracklist below | 3 Tot was an avantgarde female duo from Berlin consisting of Karen Matting and Andrea Hüber-Rohne that existed from 1989 until 1999. They started out under the name 'Kirche von Unten', but spontaneously renamed themselve to '3 Tot'. Karen Matting also sang with the group Choo Choo Flame (later Tumor Traudels), a band with Bo Kondren (Ornament & Verbrechen). Andrea Hüber-Rohne played in the Avantgarde-Punkband Keine Ahnung until 1990. This only cassette by 3 Tot shows a magical recording of German avant-pop splendor with deep and simple organ/piano songs that display the sounds of the Berlin underground during a special moment right after the fall of the wall. Musically It reminds me a bit of Véronique Vincent & Aksak Maboul for example, but it still also connects a lot to the German NDW tradition of the 80's.
