Tuned for efficiency and long-term reliability, the chassis provides secure, predictable handling, confident braking performance, and comfort over long distances. When the Cargo variant is driven empty, the suspension still feels firm and precise, while under load, it achieves a balance that gives drivers confidence. The Passenger variant provides the same secure and comfortable dynamics over long distances. Thanks to its wide stance and low-mounted battery, the model maintains excellent balance with and without cargo. Although its tall body makes it naturally more sensitive to crosswinds, the chassis tuning ensures composure and safety at motorway speeds. Optional all-weather tyres further enhance usability for year-round operations. The PV5’s powertrain is engineered to deliver performance and efficiency across different passenger and business applications. A front-mounted electric motor delivers up to 120 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. Customers have a choice of battery options tailored to their operational needs. The Passenger variant is available with either a 51.5-kWh or 71.2-kWh battery, while the Cargo variant will additionally offer a compact 43.3-kWh option in the future. Depending on the specific configuration, the vehicle delivers an all-electric range (AER) of up to 416 kilometres, ensuring suitability for both short-distance urban delivery and longer regional operations. Additionally, optimised battery placement and the energy management system keep real-world usability robust. An additional 100 kilogrammes of payload results in only around a 1.5-per-cent reduction in AER. Charging performance has been optimised for business use. The PV5 supports DC fast charging of up to 150 kW (10 to 80 per cent in around 30 minutes) to minimise downtime on the road, and in the future, customers will also be able to take advantage of AC charging at 22 kW for flexible, everyday use. The front-mounted charging port adds an extra layer of practicality, allowing the model to be recharged without obstructing access to the cargo area. The PV5 offers best-in-class utility and ergonomics. In the Cargo variant, the model provides a cargo volume of up to 4.4 cubic metres, a payload of up to 790 kilogrammes (690 kilogrammes with the long-range battery), and an exceptionally low loading height of just 419 millimetres to simplify loading and unloading. The Passenger variant achieves a best-in-class sidestep height of 399 millimetres, guaranteeing easy access and comfort for passengers. The interior’s flexible low floor supports customisable seating arrangements. A five-passenger layout is currently available, with six and seven-passenger layouts coming next year. Across the range, the PV5 benefits from a class-leading turning radius of just 5.5 metres. This enables excellent manoeuvrability in dense city centres and tight spaces. Designed as a workspace, customers can attach storage, accessories, or specialised equipment directly in the cabin through Kia AddGear and an L-track mounting system. This makes the PV5 suitable for every job, from last-mile delivery to leisure and light camper conversions. Furthermore, the Kia PV5 is strategically positioned between the C and D segments, offering flexibility through various length and height configurations. While its exterior dimensions are comparable to those of C segment competitors, the Kia PV5 delivers a cargo volume that rivals D segment vans available in Europe.
