This is my custom-built Lego 2-8-4 locomotive. Took me several months to get all the detail and features down. 2-8-4 is the Whyte notation for locomotive wheel classification (not including the tender). So in this case it has 2 small front wheels, 8 big wheels in the middle, and 4 smaller ones in the back. It's made mostly out of older lego pieces (which explains why the boiler design is made out of plates and a satellite dish) with the exception of the electronics. That includes the tracks so once and a while it'll hit a bump in an old track and it might jam for a fraction of a second. Uses Power Functions RC system, one 9V geared motor, one rc train motor, and one old lego 9v train motor. At two minutes it starts running on flexible lego tracks. They don't give enough grip but the train can still run at a decent speed. INSTRUCTIONS: http://www.mediafire.com/?271osk110y3hp READ THIS FIRST: I created these build files in Lego Digital Designer (FREE program). Download the program (FOR FREE), open one of the xlf files, click the building instruction button at the top right corner of the window. Use arrow keys to change steps and use mouse + right click + drag to change view. **ALSO** : β’on the boiler top part (boiler_top), the big block in the front part is supposed to be a Lego weight block. β’The wheels on the main body part are substitutions because Lego Digital Designer does NOT have any 3D models of Big Ben Brick train wheels. β’The color in the instructions may be odd in some places. This is because Lego Digital Designer won't allow certain pieces to have different colors. β’In the Four Wheel Support file the wheel thingy is separate from the outer decorations because the designer doesn't have the RC Train motor in their parts collection. If you have ANY issues or ANY questions about the instruction stuff send me a message. I'm willing to help you folks w/this.
