Many people do not fully understand the value of fish passage. At the first Fish Passage Conference, held at University of Massachusetts Amherst, professionals came together to discuss the importance of this specialized field. Attendees also came to witness a ground-breaking moment in fish passage history where Umass congratulated their first class of graduates from their new Ecohydrology and Engineering Graduate Program. This program was designed to combine knowledge from the many disciplines needed to fully comprehend the complexities of fishway engineering.
