The Speed Brake lever is located next to the throttle and the trim wheel. It has 4 positions (in the case of the Boeing 737-800) Down, Arm, Flight Detent, and UP. In the down position, the flight spoilers and the ground spoiler are retracted and stowed. In the Arm Position, the Auto Speed Brake system will extend the Flight and the Ground Spoilers upon Landing. You should Arm the Speed Brake on the final. The Flight Detent position is the maximum Extention for in-flight operation, this means that once airborne you should not extend the speed brake lever beyond the flight detent. This will extend the Flight Spoilers to their in-flight maximum extension. The UP will fully extend the Ground Spoilers and the Flight Spoilers upon landing. When you arm the speed brake a green SPEEDBRAKE ARM will illuminate. If there is a problem with Arming the Speed brake an amber SPEED BRAKE DO NOT ARM light will illuminate. If the Speed Brake lever is beyond the ARM position and the flaps are more than 10, or you are below 800'RA the amber SPEEDBRAKE EXTENDED will illuminate. This light will also illuminate on the ground if the speed brake lever is down and the ground spoilers are not stowed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you feel like supporting the PILOTCLIMB channel with a donation you can send a PayPal or a crypto transaction to the addresses below: PayPal address: https://www.paypal.me/PilotClimb BTC address: 3DMaWztGYufX9WH33hSVNouwVpMEBA6m1t ETH address: 0x486fcA0234e2950D2068d1171379F5Efb36B911A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Timestamps: 00:00 Intro 00:47 Speed Brake Lever Positions 01:07 When to use the Speed Brake Lever 03:42 Speed Brake Flight Deck Lights ============================================================== Disclaimer: THIS VIDEO IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.
