Level 1–7: Polar Kebbits Acquire a noose wand from a hunter shop or another player. Next, head to the Rellekka Hunter area northeast of Rellekka. Several burrows are located on the northwest corner of the northern island. These can be reached by travelling north from the Keldagrim entrance cave, or the Seers village (fairy ring DKS). A guide to catching polar kebbits may be found here. Each kebbit will earn 30 XP and you will need to catch 22 to reach level 7. Note: Players may find it faster to continue catching Polar Kebbits up until level 15, despite their lower XP per catch compared to Feldip Weasels. Levels 5–80/99: Bird house traps Bird house trapping locations Setting up and checking bird house traps on Fossil Island is a passive Hunter training method, which can be done every 50 minutes and offers the fastest Hunter experience effectively up to level 80. This is recommended for players who want to level Hunter steadily and without much effort (comparable to Farming), not for those seeking for best experience rates in real time. However, even the players seeking for the fastest Hunter experience in real time may want to consider doing bird house runs instead for early levels, as it is significantly better than the low-level active training methods. Even at level 5, the experience gained over time accumulates to 53,000 experience per actively spent hour, unbeaten by any other method available at those levels and even higher. It is also profitable (unlike other low-level training methods) due to the bird nests and the seeds and rings they can contain. This method is viable even up to 99, as long as obtaining levels fast is not required. Building a bird house requires a clockwork and a log of the corresponding kind. Clockworks can be crafted from a steel bar at level 8 on a crafting table 2 or higher in a POH. All bird houses and clockworks can also be obtained at the Grand Exchange but are rarely traded, while the required hop seeds (any kind) can be bought. When collecting a filled birdhouse clockworks will be returned, along with bird nests and feathers. A digsite pendant (or a mounted digsite pendant in the player-owned house) (You must have completed the Dig Site quest and Bone Voyage in order to travel to Fossil Island) 4 logs to build 4 of the corresponding type of bird house Hammer Chisel 40 hop seeds of any kind (20 if using wildblood seeds) Extra clockwork for building a bird house while running to the next one (recommended) Doing a bird house run Teleport to Fossil Island with the digsite pendant and run north to the mushtree. Use the mushtree to go to Verdant Valley. Check the eastern bird house followed by the western one, then run back to the mushtree. Use the mushtree to go to Mushroom Meadow. Run a bit north to check the bird house near the mushtree. Run south to the swamp entrance for the final bird house. The table below lists the experience for a single (full) birdhouse. Multiply this by 4 to get the total experience for a full run. One run takes around 1m15s-1m30s.
